Relevant Experience:

July – September 2012: Internship with Queensland State Library

I worked in a variety of sections of the State Library including:
·         Collections and resources involving computerization and moderation of Wikipedia pages. I also worked on the Historypin Project.
·         The Edge. This involved setting up a program for citizen journalism (CitizenJ).
·         Marketing and publicity including preparing written material such as pamphlets for the Brisbane Writers’ Festival, poetry slam and a program to encourage children to read. I was also involved in copy-editing internal SLQ documents.

December 2011-March 2012: Internship with Boolarong Press

As an intern at Boolarong Press, my work required a high level of attention to detail in editing articles for the History Queensland magazine, as well as copy-editing and making structural edits on manuscripts. I finished a complete edit of a novel of some 200 pages.
My duties included taking phone calls from a range of clients, in particular historical societies, government agencies, corporations and customers. I also ran the Facebook, Twitter and YouTube elements of Boolarong’s marketing, I regularly wrote media releases for upcoming books and magazines published by Boolarong Press and send them to newspapers, historical societies and subscribers. I co-ordinated various strategies for marketing the History Queensland magazine with coworkers, designers and my employer.

2010 –Present: Film Reviewer, Brisbane
Regular film review columnist in the university student magazine (QUTE).  Review movies for Paramount, Icon Films, Hopscotch Films and Mind-Blowing Films.
2005- Present: Freelance Technical Support, Brisbane
Assisting with computer software issues. Tutored in e-mail, internet and anti-virus software. Pro bono work on computer re-installation at the South Bank Corporation after the 2011 floods.
2007 Theatre Sports Member and State Finalist. 2008 Theatre Sports Captain and State Semi-Finalist
Theatresports requires quick thinking, advanced improvisation skills, a sense of humour and dramatic range.
2007-2011: Library Clerk, Supreme Court Law Library, Brisbane
Filing updates of legal material, scanning commission papers from legal judgments and précising legal articles, shelving, brochure composition and sending corporate letters
